Welcome Back

1 November 2017

Welcome to the second half of the Autumn term.  There have been many exciting highlights during the first seven weeks.  The children should be very proud of the way they have immersed themselves in the topics and the home projects produced have been outstanding in their creativity, variety and research.  Thank you, parents, for your encouragement of these and for daily reading with your children.  Thank you for your support of the [read on]...

Swimming

1 November 2017

The pool "dome" is now in place and the final aspects of work to the pool are under way.  As well as having the cover, the pool has been re-configured and re-lined and has new pipe-work, a new filtration system and a self-dosing unit.  We look forward to a successful opening before too long!

Staff News

1 November 2017

At half-term, we said goodbye to Penny Herbert, a most dedicated teaching assistant here for five years, and we wish her every happiness as she pursues her caring vocation with older age-groups.  We welcome Clare Butters and Michelle Fossey as teaching assistants.  Congratulations to both Laura Bezuidenout and Raphael Munton on the birth of baby daughters in October.

Clubs

1 November 2017

I am grateful to my colleagues for running so many school clubs which the children gain so much from.  We are fortunate indeed that at St Lawrence this is seen by staff as integral to school-life.

Swimming Pool

22 September 2017

Work this Summer was extensive but disappointingly unfinished.  We were promised it would be ready for swimming at the start of term but this is far from the case.  As a result, our triathlon will be postponed for the time being.  We are expecting the dome still to be in place by November.

Our Pupils

22 September 2017

As always, our pupils have settled back into school life as if there had been no break.  The new Foundation Stage pupils have already demonstrated impressive sociability and independence.
