European Day of Languages

This year, to celebrate the European Day of Languages, we are asking all children to come into school dressed in the colours of a European country's flag. We are also running the theme 'Where am I?'

 As an OPTIONAL home learning task, you could make a poster entitled 'Where am I?'

 Once you have chosen your European country, you might like to include a series of clues starting with less obvious ones until your chosen country is revealed - can your audience work it out? Facts you might like to slowly reveal could include:

 * Does the country have a coastline or is it landlocked?

* How big is it/how many people live there?

* Where in Europe is it?

* Does it have any famous/well-known landmarks, foods or people?

* What language/s are spoken?

* Is there a word or phrase you could show/say?

* What does the country's flag look like? (Maybe, the colours you are dressed in are a clue?)

 Simpler versions can of course be created! We will celebrate all!

 Please bring your work into school by Friday 9th October to share with your class during the day.

 We may be able to show a few in assembly. If you would like to do this, please bring your work into your teachers by Wednesday September 30th so that we can plan some of them into the assembly for the following week. If we are unable to show them all in assembly, the children will have the opportunity to share it in class. Everyone that has worked on this will receive a merit. Please be as creative as you can!
